Permanent Teeth Benefits
Getting permanent teeth with dental implants offers several advantages:
- Natural Look and Feel: Dental implants are designed to look, feel, and function like natural teeth. They blend seamlessly with your existing teeth, providing a more aesthetically pleasing and natural appearance.
- Durability and Longevity: Dental implants are highly durable and can last a lifetime with proper care. Unlike dentures, which may need to be replaced or adjusted over time, implants offer a permanent solution for missing teeth.
- Improved Oral Health: Dental implants help preserve the jawbone by stimulating bone growth, preventing bone loss that typically occurs with missing teeth. They also do not require the reduction of adjacent teeth, as is necessary with some other tooth replacement options, like bridges.
- Enhanced Comfort: Implants are securely anchored into the jawbone, eliminating the discomfort and irritation often associated with removable dentures. They don't slip or shift, allowing for greater comfort while speaking and eating.
- Better Functionality: With dental implants, you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence. They provide the same biting force as natural teeth, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of foods without worry.
- Easy Maintenance: Caring for dental implants is straightforward and similar to caring for natural teeth. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups are all that's needed to maintain them.
- Boosted Confidence: Because dental implants look and feel like natural teeth, they can significantly improve your self-esteem and confidence. You won't have to worry about dentures slipping or looking unnatural.
- Preservation of Facial Structure: By preventing bone loss, dental implants help maintain your facial structure, preventing the "sunken" appearance that can occur with prolonged tooth loss.
- No Dietary Restrictions: With dental implants, there are no restrictions on the types of food you can eat, as they are strong and stable enough to handle even tough or crunchy foods.
Overall, dental implants offer a reliable, long-term solution for those seeking to replace missing teeth with permanent teeth, providing both functional and aesthetic benefits.
Types of Dental Implants
There are three main types of dental implants:
Endosteal Implants: These are the most common types of dental implants. They are surgically implanted directly into the jawbone and are typically made of titanium. Once the surrounding gum tissue has healed, a second surgery is needed to connect a post to the original implant, to which an artificial tooth or teeth are attached.
Endosteal Implants are best for patients with a healthy jawbone and enough bone density to support the implant.
Subperiosteal Implants: These are placed under the gum but above the jawbone. They consist of a metal frame that is fitted onto the jawbone just below the gum tissue. As the gums heal, the frame becomes fixed to the jawbone, and posts attached to the frame protrude through the gums, where the artificial teeth are mounted.
Subperiosteal Implants are best for patients who do not have enough healthy jawbone for an endosteal implant and do not want to undergo a bone graft.
Zygomatic Implants: This type is less common and more complex. It involves placing the implant in the cheekbone (zygomatic bone) rather than the jawbone. This procedure is often used when there is insufficient bone in the upper jaw and traditional implants or bone grafts are not viable.
Zygomatic implants are best for patients with significant bone loss in the upper jaw who cannot undergo a bone graft.
Each type of implant has its specific use case, depending on the patient's oral health and bone structure. I can review your needs and recommend suitable options if you are in the Orlando area.

How Do Permanent Teeth Restorations Work?
A titanium or zirconia implant is surgically placed into the jawbone to act as a root for an artificial tooth. Implant-supported dentures can use a few implants to support up to 16 teeth in an arch, offering the same look and durability at a lower cost.
For "All on 4 Implants," four implants are placed strategically-two in the back and two in the front. The front implants go straight into the jaw, while the back ones are angled at 45 degrees to avoid a bone graft, making the procedure more straightforward and affordable.
The process for getting full arch implant-supported dentures can differ by brand, but here's a simple overview using All-on-4s as an example:
Step 1: First, you'll have a consultation where your dentist will check if you're a good candidate for implant-supported dentures. They'll use 3D imaging to see your jawbone structure and plan how your new teeth will look and function.
Step 2: Your dentist will create a computer model of your mouth to figure out exactly where each implant should go. They might also make a guide to help with accurate placement.
Step 3: During surgery, the four implants are placed, which might also include steps like removing teeth or shaping the bone. Temporary teeth are attached while your jawbone heals and fuses with the implants. You'll need to eat soft foods during recovery to avoid harming the healing process.
Step 4: About three months later, the temporary teeth are replaced with a permanent denture. Recovery at this stage is usually quick and easy.
One of the biggest benefits of implant-supported dentures is that you can go to your dentist needing new teeth and leave the same day with a full set of temporary dentures. This means you get a complete smile right away. However, keep in mind that while the implants and temporary teeth are done in one day, the process isn't fully complete until the implants fuse with the bone, which takes a few months.
To offer this same-day treatment, your dentist needs 3D imaging technology to map your jaw and make the temporary dentures. It's important to choose a dentist with the right tools to ensure you get the best care.
See why Dr. Connor Van gets 5 Star Reviews on Google!
Dr. Van is awesome I did my research and I can tell you. Every one do not take their time with you it's all about money with some. I went to two other dental specialists. But the outcome was very disappointing. The whole team treated me very well at Ashley Dental. They took their time with me and explained the procedure. I feel like, I am gaining my confidence back. If I could give them a 10 star 💫 Rating I would gladly do so Thank you 🙏
Dr Van was extremely professional, prompt, and courteous during my exam and subsequent extraction. Same day appointment without having to call off work was great. A little pricey, but that's American medicine (dentistry) for you. I would highly recommend using Dr Van in any dental needs.
I can't say enough of my experience with Dr. Connor Van and his team at Ashley Park Dental. I've been to several consultations and I just didn't feel like anything but a number. I was frustrated and then my husband found Dr. Van. I was reluctant to go, but I did. I am so glad I did. He is a young Dr. Who is more gifted than some of the more mature Dr's. Everything is done on site and I felt no pain. I have severe PTSD from a past experience. I guarantee you won't be disappointed with Dr. Van.
Dr. Van is a kind, caring, and professional doctor. On more than one occasion, Dr. Van has had me come in so that he and the staff may address my concerns. He consistently relieves my dental anxieties. Thank you so much.
Great Dentist as well as the staff. If you need to make an appointment they can find time to get you quickly. They work that you may need is also with a quick turnaround like if you need a bridge or other major work done. He's better than the VA with being seen as I've had the VA cancel four back to back appointments in a two year timeframe in which I did not see the VA dentist at all for anything. All my work was done at Ashley Park Dental. If I can get the VA to stay out in the Community with him, this would be want I would want.
Excellent support and professionalism at Ashley Park Dental today. Dr Von and his entire staff were very friendly, professional, and most effective in dealing with my dental needs (included two cavities, a crown removal and temporary replacement, as well as X-rays and teeth cleaning). This is a clean and pleasant facility, and I was very relaxed in this atmosphere for these procedures. I really enjoyed the rapid appointment and effective work done today. Most strongly recommend this facility for all your dental needs.
Ok how do I define awesome in a person?? Oh oh hold on I got it Dr. Conner Van that's his name. I went to see Dr. Van about me being a qualified candidate for the all on 4 procedure. He and his team treated me like family and I've never felt more comfortable in my life about seeing a dentist. When it came down to my procedure they took so much caution and care and they talk you thru it until the last stitch I can write a whole lot more about the treatment and this procedure but I will let you find out for yourself and one more thing when you need info or guidance the dental assistant. Thank you all so much.
I recently visited Ashley Park Dental and must say Dr. Connor and his staff are very professional and efficient. Dr. Connor took the time to explain the procedure to me, addressing all my concerns and patiently answering my questions. His depth of knowledge and expertise were evident throughout the consultation, leaving me feeling very confident. I highly recommend Dr. Connor's office for all complex dental work.

I easily rate Ashley Park Dental with 5 stars so far. I have been looking to get implants but haven't been able to afford them. I set up for a consultation on a 2 implant over denture. The customer service was excellent and Dr Van was very down to earth and comfortable to talk with. I'm now awaiting approval for financing then I will proceed with the procedure. I'm confident that I will be happy with the results.
Aussie Traveller Review - Hey there, Overseas Travelers! Our family of 4 is currently enjoying a brilliant holiday in Orlando, exploring all the Disney World magic, when suddenly, my wife chips her tooth - talk about bad timing! We were freaking out about the crazy expensive medical stuff in America, but guess what? We called this awesome clinic "Ashley Park Dental " and got to chat with Dr. Connor! He arranged a same-day appointment for us, and let me tell you, it was hands down the best decision we made! Quick 20min Lyft from Disney Springs and With some X-rays and a temporary filling, he made sure we could get back to having a blast on our holiday without my wife being in any pain. So affordable I'm not even going to worry about claiming it back through travel insurance. Seriously, can't recommend him enough!
I have been seeing Dr Connor Van since I retired in 2015 (could never get an appt at the VA). This office always kept me up to date on my appts. Dr Conner Van has completed an implant, fixed a number of prior mishaps on my teeth. He recently completed a crown on my upper right. I can safely say you gotta be really good to pry me away from this office. I am always comfortable, entertained and well informed at all times. My wife has not even been a patient as yet and she looks forward to cleaned at this facility. Very flexible scheduling and communication to notch patient care.
GREAT office for implant procedures. Staff and doctor are friendly, considerate, knowledgeable and super accommodating. Doctor Van helped me understand every part of the procedure and really calmed my nerves for my first ever implant. I expected pain from this procedure, but got zero pain the whole way through, even after the numbness wore off and even a few days after the procedure. I was shocked at how pleasant this office and staff made everything and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for implants.
